IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY!
This document is a legal agreement
between you (either an individual or a single entity) and Carnahan
Computers Services. By making a purchase from Carnahan Computer Services,
you agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement.
What does my new system warranty cover?
Carnahan Computer Services offers
comprehensive warranty packages to provide maximum coverage to fit your
needs. The specific coverage periods of your warranty vary by system and
are defined in your System Estimate. Service Contract clients will find
additional warranty details in their Contract.
Any part that is defective in
materials or workmanship or fails to perform to it's stated
specifications within the periods described above will be repaired or
replaced, at our option. The warranty does not cover operating system or
application software, virus-type infection, misuse or abuse, factors
outside the scope of our and the manufacturers liability (such as fire,
flood, or lightning damage), or any other item not explicitly defined
here.
What is the procedure for warranty work?
Our systems have an extremely low
problem rate, due to our use of only high-end components, our stringent
quality control by custom-building each PC (Not having them all
mass-produced), and our thorough burn-in procedures. But in the unlikely
event that you do experience a problem with your PC, we will get it
resolved quickly. The procedure for warranty service is as follows:
- Call our support staff! Most problems are simple,
software-related issues that can be easily fixed over the phone (in
Warranty period only).
- If we determine that a technician needs to service
your machine, just bring it in and we'll get to as soon as we can
(usually same day) . If you prefer, we can send a technician to your
office at 65$ per incident. Note that this is only valid in the
greater Sacramento area.
- If a component needs repair or replacement, it will
be sent to the manufacturer, who will repair or replace it at their
discretion. The average component turnaround time is approximately
five to seven business days. We cover standard ground shipping
charges, but you may choose to use priority shipping, when
available, and bear any additional charges. We have worked closely
with our vendors and manufacturers to minimize turnaround time - the
industry average is three to four weeks. Unfortunately, actual
turnaround times are beyond our control. Note that monitors,
printers, and notebooks are always repaired by the manufacturer, not
by us. Once the component is returned to us, we will then proceed to
reinstall it into your system.
Note that Service Contract clients have priority
replacement service, as covered under your Contract.
What about my data?
The customer is solely responsible
for all data contained on the system. We cannot guarantee and are not
liable for the security or integrity of your data, especially on damaged
or virus-infected media. If your data is crucial, we highly recommend
some type of backup solution to protect it.
A note about our liability...
Carnahan Computer Services honors
the manufacturers warranty on each hardware component of any system. In
addition, we warranty our quality workmanship and labor. However, we are
not liable for special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages
for personal injury, loss of business profits, business interruption,
loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss.
Limitation of Liability Statement
Throughout this agreement, the "PRODUCT"
refers to any software, individual component(s), or system(s) sold by
Carnahan Computer Services.
Limited Warranty
Carnahan Computer Services warrants that (a) the
PRODUCT will perform substantially in accordance with the accompanying
written materials for a period of:
- For software, ninety (90) days from the date of
receipt.
- For hardware, one (1) year from the date of
receipt.
- For complete notebook systems, one (1) years from
the date of receipt.
- For complete desktop systems, the warranty period
is listed on a per-component basis on your System Estimate from
the date of receipt.
Any implied warranties on the PRODUCT follow the
same duration as above.
Customer Remedies
Carnahan Computer Services entire liability and your
exclusive remedy shall be, at Carnahan Computer Services option,
either (a) return of the price paid, or (b) repair or replacement of
the PRODUCT that does not meet this Limited Warranty and which is
returned to Carnahan Computer Services with a copy of your receipt.
This Limited Warranty is void if failure of the PRODUCT has resulted
from accident, abuse, or misapplication. Any replacement PRODUCT will
be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or
thirty (30) days, whichever is longer.
No Liability for Consequential Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law,
in no event shall Carnahan Computer Services be liable for any damages
whatsoever (including without limitation, special, incidental,
consequential, or indirect damages for personal injury, loss of
business profits, business interruption, loss of business information,
or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use or inability to
use the PRODUCT, even if Carnahan Computer Services has been advised
of the possibility of such damages. In any case, Carnahan Computer
Services entire liability under any provision of this agreement shall
be limited to the amount actually paid by you for the PRODUCT.
